PALILULA MARKET RECONSTRUCTION POSTPONED BY ADMINISTRATION
13.1.2012

All papers ready, waiting for better weather conditions… Not previously estimated very long time was actually necessary for providing construction project papers that will be adopted by City Council during the first session in this year says president Novakovic in the statement for `Narodne Novine`, local Nis newspapers. President Novakovic also announced the change of traffic in surrounding streets.

Reconstruction of Palilula market place, that according to the previous words of PhD Igor Novakovic, should have started on the beginning of October 2011 and should have been completed by one month, will start as soon weather conditions allow us, since that only recently the structuring documentation has been completed. Too much and not previously estimated time was necessary for providing adequate structuring project that should be adopted by the City Council at the first session. In that way all necessary administrational conditions will be completed for the start of reconstruction and the beginning of the work should only wait for better weather. Market place will be totally reconstructed. It will be of open type, will have new fence, roof, modern market stalls, and new drainage system. Beside, it is official that it will have special part for dairy products and that after the completion of work it will be closed with closing rolled blinds around it emphasized Novakovic. Modern market place means also free approach so the traffic in surrounding streets will be changed. Bozidarceva street up to `Amerikanac` will be one direction street. Also Starca Vujadina street, in the part from traffic light to St. Nikola Church, it will also be one direction street, as well as part of Episkopska street. In time of these works the market stalls for market sellers will be `dislocated in near streets. We are planning that sellers, while there are works in Cairska street, can be by the railroad, at the railway terrain, that we will get for free for using. Also, during that time the sellers will not be asked to pay any market tax, says Novakovic. The project of reconstruction was a gift of a group of Nis architects while the money has been provided from donations.
